Citation - Military Medal — Corporal Garry Harold Lobb
Corporal Garry Harold Lobb served with the 2nd Special Air Service Squadron in Vietnam from March 1968 to February 1969 and participated in more than thirty operational patrols, many involving contact with enemy forces.

On 17 June 1968, during a contact with a heavily armed enemy force, a member of his patrol was wounded by enemy machine-gun fire at close range. Corporal Lobb attempted to engage the enemy gunner but his weapon malfunctioned. Without regard for his own safety, while fully exposed only fifteen metres from the enemy, he cleared the stoppage and killed the enemy gunner, allowing the wounded soldier to reach cover.
On 14 July 1968, while operating in a mined area, his patrol commander was seriously wounded by a mine explosion. Disregarding the danger of further mines, Corporal Lobb moved forward and administered life-saving first aid.

By his courage and calmness under fire, Corporal Lobb was personally responsible for saving the lives of two members of his patrol. His professional competence and disregard for personal safety reflected great credit upon himself, the Special Air Service Regiment and the Australian Army.
