LT KENNETH AMBROSE HUDSON

Ken (Rock) Hudson was born in Queensland on 7 January 1936. He enlisted in the Army on 30 April 1956 and was allotted to the Royal Australian Infantry. He was commissioned on 9 September 1964 and posted to SASR on 24 February 1965.

Ken served in the 1st and 2nd Battalions the Royal Australian Regiment and the Airborne Platoon progressing through the ranks to Sergeant before being commissioned. Ken was presumed drowned while attempting a crossing of the flooding Sekayan River in Borneo during a four-man reconnaissance patrol on 21 March 1966 and was declared missing in action.

His remains were located and repatriated to Australia in 2010. Ken’s next-of-kin at the time of his death was his wife. He was the father of a son.
